We are a biotechnology venture launched by the pharmaceutical company, Japan Bio Products, known for the sale of the human placental injection " LAENNEC". Our goal is to harness various properties of placental substances to benefit a broader audience.

Having worked extensively in the research and development department of Japan Bio Products, I have gained diverse experiences. The common outcome across all these experiences is the remarkable multifunctionality and high effectiveness of the placental products.

In my perspective, the key to maintaining health lies in providing cells with the necessary factors, given that cellular activities are foundational to life. Since these factors are complex and minuscule, creating them artificially poses significant challenges. Therefore, the most rational approach is to utilize the human placenta, which naturally contains complex and tiny factors beneficial to human cells.

Moreover, human placenta-derived factors exhibit immune activation, anti-inflammatory effects, and the promotion of cellular energy production, among other highly beneficial effects for the human body. Notably, several factors unique to the placenta have been identified. Effectively harnessing the tissue components and cell-secreted substances of the human placenta using modern scientific advancements and techniques could significantly contribute to a healthier lifestyle for humanity.

Placenta allows the purification of common ingredients like collagen to the isolation of minuscule factors such as exosomes derived from human stem cells. Currently, many medical products using human placental tissue as a raw material are being implemented in regenerative medicine worldwide.

    Developed by the late Professor Kentaro Hieda at the Kurume Tissue Regeneration Research Institute.

  • 1974

    Commencement of Manufacturing and Sales by Japan Bio Products Co., Ltd.
    Inheritance of Laennec, a Liver Function Improvement Drug Derived from Placenta

  • 2004

    Establishment of Placenta Aloe Research Institute (PARI)
    Founded as PARI with the aim of elucidating the mechanism of action of placenta extract, discovering and extracting new components from placenta. Later renamed Placenta Avenir Research Institute.

  • 2013

    Inception of Technology Development Center (TDC)
    Established with the aim of new product development and improvement of existing products.

  • 2022

    Inception of the Laennec Regenerative Medicine Research Center (abbreviated as Re Center)
    Integration of the research institute and the Technology Development Center, established with the aim of providing new value for placenta through product development.

  • 2023

    Re Center was reorganized as an internal biotechnology venture, named RE Biotech.
